The Pillow Project

DSC_0400.JPG

The Pillow Project is an original grassroots, donation-based project that provides new, high quality pillows* to non-profit organizations that shelter children, women and men who have been abused, neglected or are homeless.  Thanks to generous, tax-deductible donations from friends, neighbors and complete strangers, the project has expanded each year to help an increased number of organizations who provide shelter and support to those in need.  In total, The Pillow Project has collected over $13,000 in donations and provided more than 3,600 pillows.

*Thanks to the generosity of a large national department store, we can purchase high quality pillows at 75% off retail price, which helps maximize the number of pillows donated.

We have organized and led annual BINGO parties for everyone on campus at the Kennedy Home since 2014, where everyone wins a large prize of their choice. This is always a fun afternoon, filled with laughter and excitement. Everyone leaves with a prize in their hands and a smile on their face! We hope to expand this project to include other organizations.
